Getting found in Lubbock now means three places, not one.
A customer with a busted water heater does one of three things. They Google it. They open Maps and tap the top result. Or — increasingly — they ask an assistant on their phone “who’s a good plumber in Lubbock” and call whoever it names.
Most local SEO work in this town still only covers the first one. We cover all three — and we publish what it costs instead of making you sit through a sales call to find out.
Three front doors. Miss one and you never hear the knock.
These aren't three services. They're three doors into the same business, and the work that opens one usually helps open the others. Here's what each one actually is.
1 · The map pack
The three businesses Google shows with a map above everything else. For a service business this is where most of the phone calls come from — and it's won with your Google Business Profile, your reviews, and your citations, not with your homepage.
2 · Organic search results
The blue links underneath. Won with real pages for real services in real towns, clean titles and headings, fast load times, and content that answers what people actually typed.
3 · AI answers
Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity. They don't browse your site the way a person does — they read structured data and direct answers. A site with none of that can rank perfectly well and still never get named. More on this below →
When somebody asks AI who to call, does your name come up?
This is the part almost nobody in Lubbock is doing yet. An AI assistant answering “who’s the best HVAC company in Lubbock” isn't scrolling your site — it's reading machine-readable facts about your business and looking for pages that answer questions directly. If those facts aren't there, you're not in the running, no matter how good your site looks.
Here's what we put on every page we build, and add to sites we take over:
Structured data
Machine-readable markup telling search engines and AI tools exactly what your business is, where you work, what you charge, and what hours you keep — instead of making them guess from your copy.
Question-and-answer pages
Real questions your customers ask, each with a direct answer right below it, marked up so an AI can lift it cleanly. This is the single most common way local businesses get cited.
AI crawler access
Most sites quietly block or simply never invite the AI crawlers. We check the file that controls this and make sure the ones that matter are explicitly allowed in.
Plain-answer writing
Definitions and specifics up front instead of buried under three paragraphs of warm-up. It reads better for people, and it's what gets picked up and quoted.
Consistent business facts
Your name, address, and phone identical across your site, your Google profile, and every directory. Conflicting details are one of the fastest ways to get skipped.
A plain-language site index
A simple file at the root of your site that lays out what you do and where, written for the tools that read it rather than for a search crawler. Cheap to add, almost nobody has one.
None of this replaces regular SEO. It sits on top of it. And because so few local businesses have done it yet, it's the cheapest edge available in Lubbock right now — which won't be true forever.
The technical SEO, AEO, and GEO checklist nobody else in Lubbock is running.
Most marketing agencies stop at "we'll optimize your site." Here's what that actually means when we do it — every item on this list ships on every site we build or take over.
Meta titles & descriptions
A meta title is the headline Google shows in search results. A meta description is the two-line summary below it. Every page gets a unique, keyword-targeted title under 60 characters and description under 155 characters — including your city name where it fits.
Open Graph & Twitter cards
Open Graph tags control what your page looks like when someone shares it on Facebook, LinkedIn, or iMessage. Twitter cards do the same for X. Without them, shared links show a blank box or a random image. We set the title, description, and a branded 1200×630 image on every page.
Canonical tags
A canonical tag tells search engines which URL is the original version of a page. Without one, duplicate content can split your ranking power across multiple URLs. Every page gets one pointing to its clean, canonical address.
LocalBusiness schema
LocalBusiness schema is structured data markup that tells Google and AI tools your business name, address, phone number, hours, service area, and price range in a machine-readable format. It feeds the knowledge panel, the map pack, and AI answers directly — no guessing from your copy required.
FAQPage schema
FAQPage schema marks up your questions and answers so Google can display them as rich results and AI tools can cite them verbatim. Every service page, landing page, and industry page ships with a FAQ section backed by this markup. This is the single highest-impact AEO tactic for local businesses.
BreadcrumbList schema
BreadcrumbList schema tells search engines how your pages relate to each other — Home → Solutions → Never Miss a Call. Google shows this as a clickable path in search results instead of a raw URL, which increases click-through rate.
Service & HowTo schema
Service schema defines what you offer, where, and at what price. HowTo schema marks up step-by-step processes. Both feed Google's structured search features and make your business easier for AI tools to describe accurately.
llms.txt — the AI site index
An llms.txt file is a plain-language index at the root of your website that describes what your business does, where you work, and what pages exist — written for AI tools, not search crawlers. Almost no local business has one. We include it on every site.
AI crawler access (robots.txt)
A robots.txt file tells crawlers what they can and can't read. Most sites either block AI crawlers by default or never address them. We explicitly allow GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and Bingbot so your business can be found and cited by every major AI assistant.
Sitemap & search console
An XML sitemap lists every page on your site for search engines to find. We submit it to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools — Bing matters because ChatGPT pulls answers from Bing's index.
Heading hierarchy & alt text
Every page gets one H1, semantic heading levels (no skipping H2 to H4), and descriptive alt text on every image. This is basic accessibility and basic SEO that most local sites still get wrong.
Definition-first copy
Research shows definition-first sentences — leading with what something is before explaining why it matters — are cited by AI answer engines roughly twice as often as narrative-style copy. We write every service description this way.
Ask your current provider how many of these they do. If the answer is “what's llms.txt?” — that's the gap we fill.
What we actually do every month.
No mystery retainer. This is the list.
Google Business Profile
Full setup or cleanup, correct categories, service areas, hours, photos, and products. Then ongoing posts to keep the profile active — activity is a ranking input, not a vanity metric.
Reviews that feed rankings
Review count, rating, and recency all move the map pack. We automate the ask after every finished job so it happens without you remembering. How review automation works →
On-page and technical work
Titles, descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, internal links, page speed, mobile layout, sitemap, and structured data across every page.
Service and city pages
A real page for each service you sell and each town you cover — Wolfforth, Shallowater, Slaton, Levelland, Idalou, Plainview. Generic “serving the Lubbock area” copy doesn't rank for any of them.
Citations and directories
Getting your business listed consistently everywhere that feeds local search, and fixing the old listings with a disconnected phone number or a previous address on them.
Reporting you can read

Before you pay anyone in this town for SEO — us included — find out what's actually broken. Our free 12-Point Audit checks your site and your Google presence and hands you a plain report: what's working, what's leaking, and which fix is worth doing first. Two minutes, no signup, no sales pitch attached.
What we won't tell you.
We won't promise you the top spot in thirty days. Nobody can, and anybody who does is either guessing or counting on you not checking. Google Business Profile work often shows movement in a few weeks because the profile itself updates fast. Organic ranking for a competitive trade keyword in Lubbock is generally a three-to-six-month build, done consistently. We'd rather tell you that up front than collect three months of retainer while you wonder why nothing moved.
Run it on your own site.
When somebody asks their phone who to call in Lubbock, does your name come up? This is the same checker we run on every site we build — type your address and see what a search engine actually finds. Nothing to sign up for.

Lubbock SEO questions, answered
What is AI search visibility, and why does it matter?
It's whether tools like Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity can find, understand, and cite your business when somebody asks them who to call. These tools read structured data, clear headings, and direct answers rather than browsing like a person. A site with no structured data can rank fine in regular search and still be invisible to an AI answer.
How much does local SEO cost in Lubbock?
Our SEO Campaign starts at $497/mo and covers keyword targeting, on-page work, citations, content strategy, and ranking monitoring. GBP post packs are $147/mo for four or $247/mo for eight, and single posts are $75. Published, not quoted after a call.
How long does local SEO take to work?
Google Business Profile improvements can move in a few weeks. Organic ranking for competitive service keywords generally takes three to six months of consistent work. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is selling something. We report what moved each month so you can see progress before rankings fully land.
Do I need SEO if I'm already running Google Ads?
They do different jobs. Ads stop the day you stop paying; SEO compounds but takes months. Most Lubbock service businesses run ads for immediate calls while the organic and map-pack work builds underneath. The map pack in particular drives calls ads can't buy their way into.
What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?
Local SEO targets searches tied to a place — “plumber near me,” “HVAC repair Lubbock” — and it's won mostly through your Google Business Profile, reviews, citations, and town-specific pages. Regular SEO targets searches with no location attached. For a service business working a defined area, local is where nearly all the revenue is.
Do reviews affect my map pack ranking?
Yes. Count, average rating, and recency all feed local ranking — and they decide whether somebody calls once they see you. That's why our review automation and our SEO work are connected instead of sold as unrelated services.
